This candle was released pre COVID. I am not talking about the COVID vaccine. I am talking about the normal, routine childhood vaccines that kept polio and measles out of classrooms for decades.

Back in 2019, I almost got canceled over it. The anti vax mom groups found me by the thousands. My reviews tanked overnight. My comment section was filled with hateful attacks and death threats. I was accused of being pro-killing babies. For the record, I have killed zero babies. What I did do was release a label that poked the sacred cow of vaccine denial with the sharpest stick possible.

Fast forward to today and the nonsense has only gotten worse. Vaccine confidence keeps dropping. The number of parents filing exemptions for school kids is at a record high and so many more are homeschooling to avoid a polio vaccine. I was homeschooled for two years as part of my religious indoctrination and it was very lonely.  MMR coverage, the vaccine that wiped measles off the map, has slipped below safety levels. Measles is back in schoolyards, thanks to dangerous conspiracy theories and now in the United States, kids are dying of preventable diseases.

I am also a mom to an autistic adult, and this is non negotiable: vaccines did not cause their autism. Decades of solid research show there is no connection between vaccines and autism. Every respected medical authority backs this up. The CDC, WHO, American Academy of Pediatrics, Autism Speaks and more agree. The only study that claimed otherwise was fraudulent, retracted, and discredited.

Here on the West Coast we are not sitting back anymore. I am in Washington, and we are part of a coalition with California and Oregon called the West Coast Health Alliance. It was formed because we refuse to let federal health policy sink into chaos. We are writing our own science based immunization guidelines, restoring trust, and making sure residents get straight talk about vaccine safety and efficacy.

Now let’s talk about RFK Jr. He claims he can diagnose mitochondrial disorders just by glancing at kids in airports. He admitted to having a literal brain worm. He fired the CDC director. He triggered a mass exodus of experts. The CDC is hollow. Senators called him a hazard to public health yesterday, and they did not hold back.

This candle matters because the same voices that screamed at me in 2019 are now making decisions that endanger all our families. The label was never about unaliving children. It was about calling out how ridiculous it is to purposely expose your kid to measles and then pray to SkyDaddy that they survive it. Isn’t their God supposed to answer prayers? How many mothers were on their knees in the 1920s begging for a cure to polio. So which prayer does their God listen to, the one begging for a cure or the one begging for protection after you ignored the cure that already exists?

So here it is again. Back from the vault. A new design. Burning with dark humor and truth. I’ve been through the storm of hate before, and I am not a rookie anymore. If the trolls want to scream in my comments, let them. I’ll be here lighting the candle I never should have retired because of the backlash. I’m stronger now than I was in 2019, and I’m done hiding from other people’s outrage.
